More pigeon messages, in today’s Freewheel!

Mar. 16th, 2011 | 09:00 am

Looks like a message for Gang Mills! Sound familiar? In today’s Freewheel!

Nothing much to say today, just telling you to buy some of these .pdfs and stuff. Yesterday I watched the Bad News Bears and it’s still a great movie. Walter Matthau is freaking hilarious.

That is all.

More uses for pigeons, in today’s Freewheel!

More uses for pigeons! In today’s Freewheel!

Hey so don’t forget, the digital versions of all my published titles are still available in the store – I’ve decided to make them available for a limited time ONLY because of the fees associated with the file hosting service, so if you’re at all interested in owning digital copies of either My Brain Hurts or Freewheel, you should get on that now while you still can! I’ll probably keep the files available for purchase for another two weeks.

Also, the files for Freewheel: Vol. 2 are currently at the printer’s and everything is going well so far! If everything goes as planned I’ll have the very first copies available at the MoCCA Art Fest in a few weeks! Then I’ll be selling them online shortly thereafter.

I’ll be at a bunch of conventions this year! Come see me at these places:

April 9-10: MoCCA Festival (New York, NY)

April 16-17: Stumptown Comics Fest (Portland, OR)

May 7-8: TCAF (Toronto, ON)

June 3-5: Indie Island at Heroes Con (Charlotte, NC)

September 10-11: SPX (Rockville, MD)

(NYCC is also a possibility, pending my acceptance into Artists’ Alley, and I usually do the Philly Alternative Comic Con as well, but the tables aren’t up yet)

Some true facts about pigeons, in today’s Freewheel!

Mar. 9th, 2011 | 09:00 am

Those are some true facts about pigeons, by the way. They’re pretty interesting animals, I was sad that I only had room for a few choice pigeon facts, but maybe we’ll get to hear more later. In today’s Freewheel!

The pigeon dude was partially inspired by the character of Terry Malloy from On the Waterfront, one of Marlon Brando’s most famous movies for which I believe he won his first Oscar. Of course, this guy’s no Marlon Brando, but who is? I mean seriously, look at the guy! Who wouldn’t want to play with his pigeons?

I’m still totally obsessed with Quantum Leap, by the way, so much so that I started a QL-specific Tumblr account, so follow it if you are into that sort of thing.

And of course, I probably already mentioned that all my books are now available for only $5 each as pdf downloads! Including Freewheel: Vol. 2, which isn’t even in print yet! Crazy!

New Freewheel page, new .pdf downloads for sale, and new Quantum Leap comics!

Mar. 7th, 2011 | 09:00 am

I could make a joke about this page being for the birds, but uh… I’ll resist. In today’s Freewheel!

So I have some big news! All four of my published titles (My Brain Hurts: Vol. 1&2 and Freewheel: Vol. 1&2) are now available as .pdf downloads for only $5 each! That’s right, no more paying extra for shipping or waiting for me to send books to you! You can download and read it all instantly, and at a very affordable price! Check it out at the Trading Post! Freewheel: Vol. 2 won’t be available in print form for another few weeks, so if you don’t want to wait, now you don’t have to! It’s also a great way to get My Brain Hurts: Vol. 1 from me, since I no longer have any copies available for sale!

ALSO… I have been totally obsessed with Quantum Leap lately and blabbing about it constantly on Twitter, so I started doing some little comics and writeups about it on my Tumblr account, so you should check it out if you’re into that sort of thing! I plan on doing more, since I’ve been watching so much god damn Quantum Leap. (like seriously, SO MUCH)

In today’s Freewheel!

Mar. 2nd, 2011 | 09:00 am

Something tells me Judah’s not too comfortable… in today’s Freewheel!

If you are a backer of Freewheel: Volume Two, the .pdf version of the book is now available for download (for backers only) so check your email for the latest project update, which contains the link to download the .pdf.

If you weren’t a backer and want to pick up a copy of the printed version, I’ll be debuting it next month at the MoCCA Art Fest here in NYC!

Make him talk? Uh oh… In today’s Freewheel!

As you may have seen on my Tumblr, I finally finished the cover for Freewheel: Vol.2 so here’s a sneak peek for you guys! I’ve since changed the font on the “volume two by liz baillie” part but other than that it will look like this:

It’s Judah versus the cops, in today’s Freewheel!

Feb. 23rd, 2011 | 09:00 am

Judah versus the cops! How bad could it get? Uh… don’t answer that. In today’s Freewheel!

My friend Shannon, who is one of the sweetest, kindest people I know, will be doing the Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk soon. It’s an EIGHTEEN MILE WALK to raise money for suicide prevention. I know there’s not a whole lot of cash to go around right now, but this is a very important cause and one that is close to my heart, so please consider giving even just a few dollars. She has to make something like at least a thousand dollars to do it, so every little bit helps! At the moment she is just shy of halfway there. Go throw her a few bucks, won’t you? I mean for Pete’s sake, she’s walking EIGHTEEN MILES!!!

According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, someone in the United States dies by suicide every 16 minutes, and that a suicide attempt is made every minute of every day. Judging by the amount of people in my life who have attempted suicide and the few that have unfortunately succeeded, that sounds about right. I hope you will consider donating to help prevent suicide.

Judah’s not all bad, in today’s Freewheel!

Feb. 21st, 2011 | 09:00 am

See, Judah’s not all bad! He’s a little helpful, sometimes… in today’s Freewheel!

I’m sorry if I haven’t been responding to people’s comments as much as I usually do, I’ve been really swamped trying to get that Freewheel: Vol. 2 book done and I’ve been avoiding virtually everything that isn’t that and also isn’t necessary, like eating and sleeping and going to work. I didn’t go on Twitter all weekend, which is insane for me because I am a Twitter addict for sure.

Most of my time is being spent finishing up the Raids of ’65 side story that’s going in the back of the book, which will be totally awesome when it’s done but at the moment is just causing me a bunch of stress trying to get it all done in time to get the files to the printer to get the book back in time for the MoCCA Art Fest in April! ARGH!

Anyway, I won’t stress you out vicariously by going on any further about it. Hopefully I can just continue to buckle down and get this book done in time!

I do know one way I can help, in today’s Freewheel!

Feb. 16th, 2011 | 09:00 am

Did anybody figure out that Judah had ratted out Jack to the cops? I really didn’t try to make that obvious in any way, but I knew that Jamie would have figured it out pretty quickly. In today’s Freewheel!

So it looks like the Freewheel: Vol. 2 Kickstarter reached something like 112% funded, which is awesome! Thanks to everybody who backed it! I’m spending the majority of my time over the next two weeks getting the book ready to go to the printer, which I’m super excited about because the printer I’m using this time around is very friendly and helpful and I think they’ll do a really great job with it.
